The ceremonyAbout twenty minutes, in the Atherley Chamber.

Mulled wine at the Town HallStay for a drink in the Chamber while we slip away for photographs. It is dark by half four in November, so we have kept everyone indoors and warm.
5:30pm
Jonny's, and everyone is invitedTen seconds' walk down the High Street. A drink on arrival, food, a few short speeches, then a party.
11:00pm
Jonny's closesThe Red Lion on the High Street is open until midnight if you are not done.

We are staying in Arundel all day Saturday and we will be going somewhere for lunch, around two o'clock. Nothing formal and nothing organised, just a table somewhere and anyone who fancies joining us is very welcome. Everyone buys their own, and we will say where once we have decided. Worth knowing if you are weighing up whether to stay the night. There is a question about it on the RSVP.

Getting here

By train

Arundel station is on the Arun Valley line, with direct trains from Worthing, Littlehampton, Chichester, Horsham and London Victoria, and easy connections from Brighton. It is about a fifteen minute walk into town, mostly downhill on the way in, or a few minutes in a taxi.

Getting home again

Trains run into the late evening but they thin out after eleven, so it is worth checking your last one before you travel. You can look it up at nationalrail.co.uk. If you are getting a taxi, book it a week or two ahead. Arundel is a small town and there are not many cars about at eleven on a Friday night.

By car

Arundel sits just off the A27, signposted from Chichester in the west and Worthing in the east. The Town Hall is on Maltravers Street, a minute off the High Street, and Jonny's is on the High Street itself. The two are ten seconds apart, so park once and leave the car where it is.

Parking

There is plenty, and it is free in the evening. Charges in the town car parks stop at 6pm, so you will pay for an hour or two on the way in and nothing after that.

Mill RoadBN18 9PAThe big riverside one, 124 spaces, about five minutes' walk. The safest bet if you are arriving close to half three.
Fitzalan Pool, the LidoBN18 9JJ151 spaces and rarely full. Charges here run to 8pm rather than 6pm.
Crown YardBN18 9JLClosest to the High Street but only 64 spaces, so it fills up first.
Arundel stationBN18 9PH154 bays and four electric charging points, if you want to leave the car overnight and walk in.

Blue badge holders park free at River Road. If you are staying over, check with your hotel first, as some have their own spaces.

Staying over

Arundel is small and it is a Friday, so book early if you would like to stay.

Cottages and apartments

Henry Adams Holiday Cottages and Airbnb both have places in the town itself. Search for Arundel BN18 and look for anything on the High Street, Tarrant Street or down by the river.

Good to know

Who is invited

Your invitation names everyone it is for. The Town Hall seats eighty, so some of you are with us for the ceremony and every single one of you is with us at Jonny's from half five. The party is the same for all of us.

Children

We are keeping the day to grown ups, apart from babies still being fed and the children named on your invitation. We hope that makes it easier to enjoy a night out.

What to wear

Put your party frock on. No black please, and bring a coat, it is November.

Food and drink

Food at Jonny's is on us, and so is your first drink. After that the bar is a bar. Tell us anything you cannot eat on the RSVP and we will make sure there is something for you.

Gifts

Having you there is the present. If you would like to give something towards our honeymoon in December, there is a fund here, or there will be a box on the night. Whatever you would like to give, or nothing at all, is exactly right.
